Tata Motors recently launched the all-new Sierra at an attractive starting price of ₹11.49 lakh. With its bold styling, premium features, and strong market appeal, the SUV is already generating buzz.
Now, Tata is exploring the possibility of launching a 7-seater Sierra along with an AWD (All-Wheel Drive) version to expand its portfolio and attract a wider range of customers.

7-Seater & AWD Sierra Under Evaluation – Ideal for Families and Adventure Lovers

A 7-seater SUV is perfect for large families, tourers, and commercial fleet users. Tata is evaluating a 7-seater variant that will be positioned above the current 5-seater model but below full-size D-segment SUVs in Tata’s lineup.

Additionally, an ICE-based AWD Sierra is currently under development and is expected to launch in early 2027.
The Sierra EV will also arrive with RWD and AWD options. This has been confirmed by Tata Motors’ Chief Commercial Officer, Vivek Srivatsa.

ARGOS Platform – The Backbone of Sierra’s Future Variants

The new Sierra is built on Tata’s advanced monocoque platform, ARGOS (All-terrain Ready, Omni-Energy and Geometry Scalable Architecture).
This platform allows Tata Motors to create multiple versions, body types, and drivetrain options without major re-engineering.

Key Strengths of the ARGOS Platform:

  • Supports different lengths and wheelbase configurations
  • Compatible with petrol, diesel, CNG, and hybrid powertrains
  • Offers both FWD and AWD drivetrain setups
  • Flexible interior layout possibilities
  • Enables quick development of new versions at low cost

Thanks to ARGOS, Tata can strategically launch new Sierra variants at regular intervals, ensuring the model stays fresh and competitive.
