Range Rover : The number of high-end luxury vehicles on Indian roads has increased significantly over the past decade. Brands such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Land Rover, and Range Rover are no longer rare sights. Buyers who spend crores on these vehicles expect not only premium engineering but also top-tier after-sales support. However, real-world experiences do not always match those expectations.
Recently, a video circulating on social media shows a Range Rover Sport abandoned on the roadside by its owner, who claims to be exhausted after repeated unsuccessful visits to the service center.
Range Rover : A Public Protest by a Frustrated Owner
The video, shared by Awesome Amdavad on Instagram, features a black Range Rover Sport parked by the roadside with large protest banners attached to it. According to the information shared, the SUV was purchased nearly two years ago, and the owner has reportedly been dealing with persistent issues ever since.
Despite numerous visits to the dealership and service facility, the problems with the vehicle have allegedly remained unresolved.
Range Rover : No Clear Details on the Exact Problem
At present, it is unclear what specific issue the SUV is suffering from. The problem could be mechanical, electronic, or related to features and build quality. While the exact fault has not been disclosed, the owner’s actions suggest that the issue has significantly affected his ownership experience.
After spending more than ₹2.10 crore on the luxury SUV, the owner claims he expected a far better product and level of service.
Dealer Named in the Protest Messages
The banners displayed on the vehicle directly mention Cargo Motors, the dealership where the owner claims to have sought repairs for nearly 25 months without a permanent solution.
One of the posters accuses the dealer of providing a poor ownership experience and urges people to share the incident widely on social media to highlight the issue.
Reward Offered for Justice
In an unusual move, the owner has also announced a ₹51,000 reward for anyone who can help him get justice. Another banner expresses regret over purchasing such an expensive vehicle, stating dissatisfaction with both the product quality and after-sales support.
This public display appears to be a last-resort effort to draw attention to the unresolved complaint.
Reliability Concerns Around Luxury SUVs
Range Rover vehicles have often faced criticism for long-term reliability issues. With modern cars becoming increasingly complex—packed with electronics, sensors, and advanced features—the chances of technical failures have also risen. This challenge is not exclusive to Range Rover and affects many premium brands globally.
However, such issues become more serious when service centers fail to diagnose or permanently fix the problem.
Legal Options Still Unclear
It is currently unknown whether the owner has approached a consumer court. Under Indian consumer protection laws, buyers can seek compensation if they can prove that a defective product was sold or that adequate service was not provided.
In several past cases, courts have ruled in favor of customers, ordering manufacturers or dealers to compensate buyers for defective vehicles and poor after-sales experiences.
This incident once again highlights the importance of reliable service support, especially in the luxury car segment where expectations are exceptionally high.
